​Nia King is a writer and editor with a body of work spanning 20 years. She is best known for her three-volume book series, Queer & Trans Artists of Color. She started the podcast We Want the Airwaves back in 2013, and has been hosting, editing, and producing it since, making it the oldest and longest-running podcast focused on queer and trans people of color.

​​Nia has been interviewed by several media outlets, spoken at many colleges and conferences, and held readings in bookstores and libraries from coast to coast. While living in Oakland, CA she was recognized with a Best of the East Bay Award in 2016 and a #BayBrilliant (formerly Women to Watch) Award in 2018. She lives in Philadelphia.
